COURSE SCHEDULE
Officer of the Watch (Unlimited)
This is MCA approved 32 week programme covering the underpinning knowledge and short courses required to qualify for an Officer of the Watch (OOW) (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency.
Delegates will study towards an SQA Advanced Certificate which will cover the academic underpinning knowledge required for certification.

UK OOW (UNLIMITED) Examinations 2024 Eligibility Criteria & Course details.
- Minimum of 36 months of sea service on merchant ships in an acceptable deck capacity for e.g. Trainee OS, OS, AB, Bosun, Deck Cadet, Junior Officer, etc. whilst holding a valid “Personal medical fitness certificate” recognized by the MCA, UK. UK OOW (UNLIMITED) preparatory courses 2024 at MarineMind Academy in Navi Mumbai.
- You also should have 6 months of documented bridge watch-keeping duties.
- No Formal qualification certificate is required, No Record book maintaining is required.
Documentary evidence for Sea time:
- Stamps on the CDC for min 36 months as decl rating capacityincluding trainee Seaman (Indian, Sri Lnkan, Malaysian, Panama, Liberia etc are acceptable)
- Company sea-time letter or Masters testimonials for a minimum 36 months of sea service.
- 6 months of bridge watch-keeping certificate from the Master (or the company) must mention that you have kept 8 hours of bridge watch-keeping duties every day as assistant to the main watch-keeper whilst the vessel was at sea.
Normal Visa -Now, not advisable (As there are cases, the visa is delayed beyond 2 months) –
FAST TRACK -Advisable (10/15days)
FAST TRACK VISA fee is approximately 34,000.
Important Criteria for Visa:
1.Fund in your Account: As required. We will guide you. Any fund borrowed from
should be from Father or Brother. No direct fund transfer from friends to your
account.

(A)For 10/11 months Student Visitor Visa:
Tuition Fees + Living expenses-Approximate GBP 15400, Plus Visa Fees + Health
Insurance (GBP 1000).
(The deposit amount of GBP 1000 shall be deducted from the fund in account).

Different colleges in UK charge similar fees which varies from :GBP 7500 to GBP
7990(Includes, Tuition Fees, HNC Registration Fees, MCA Orals Prep, NAEST and
HELM).

For booking a course, you will need to email or Whatsapp the following
documents to us:
Completed Deck Course Booking Form. To Get one click (Blank Course
Booking Form ; Sample Filled Up Course Booking Form)
Passport: 1st page and address page
CDC: Proof of sea service stamp pages of CDC
Watch keeping Certificate from Master or Company Letter.
Electronic bank transfer of £ 1,000(As not refundable deposit Payment) to
be made to the college. This will be adjusted against your total fees.
Non Refundable deposit may be adjusted if (1)you have intimated the college
before 21 days and (2) do the same course within 24 months of the course
starting date
If you are still on board, still you can book your seat provided you are sure that
the required sea time will be completed before starting the classes with the
college. Admission letter will be sent to your email address in about 3 weeks after
receiving your documents by email and deposit payment is made. The Documents
can be sent by scanned copy e-mail and payments can be made by you or your
blood relatives from their account.
The following MCA, UK approved STCW courses need to be completed before you
can be issued with a UK OOW CoC.
These courses are however not required for applying for a Notice of Eligibility
(NoE) with the MCA, UK.
-Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF)
-Medical First Aid (MFA)
-Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Craft (PSC&RB)
-GMDSS (UK)
-HELM (O)
The NAEST (M) course now requires that prior to commencing the course in UK,
students must have documentary evidence of completion of either:
-(a)MCA approved NARAST (O) course completed on or after 1st January
2005
-(b) MCA approved ECDIS course completed on or after 1st January 2005;
NoE is issued by Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), UK to be eligible to sit
for the written and oral examinations in the UK.
NoE can be applied prior to going to the UK or during stay in the UK. It is not
necessary to be in possession of NoE for booking or appearing the course . But, it
is advisable to apply for NoE in advance.
-Download the NoE Form MSF 4274 and fill up the NOE form by pen in
CAPITAL LETTERS only.
-Enclose your NoE application form, Passport, CDC, STCW basic courses
(PST, PSSR, FPFF, EFA), Sea Service Letters / Masters testimonials of 36
months, 6 months of Bridge Watch-keeping Certificate, valid Medical Fitness
Certificate in Annexure IV Format, 2 passport size photographs (size 40mm
x 50m with white background) and send by email to the MCA at
deck@mcga.gov.uk
-You will need to make a payment of GBP 220 towards NoE fees using your
debit / credit card.
Application for NOE :
The online payment link is given in Page 5 of the NoE
form. The MCA does not accept cash or DD’s.
Due to Covid 19 pandemic, the MCA is not accepting hard copies of
documents. All documents including payment are to be sent online only.
The MCA will issue the NoE also online. This will however change in future.
The NoE processing time is 28 days. It may however take longer depending
upon the workload at the MCA and any external situation. If you have not
received your NoE in about 40 days from date of NoE application, please
drop an email to the MCA mentioning your name, passport number and
DOB to enquiry about the status of your application.
